Dr. Comer Featured in TC Today, The Alumni Magazine of Teachers College, Columbia University

Dr. James P. Comer was featured in the December 16, 2011 issue of TC Today, The Alumni Magazine of Teachers College, Columbia University in "Bottling Common Sense," by Barbara Finkelstein.

Early in his career he felt "that psychiatry was looking at the individual in a social vacuu" and he wondered if it was possible to 'bottl' the family habits that had prepared him to excel n school and apply them to his work," said Finkelstein. Dr. Comer, a trustee of Teachers College, "always felt that his parents, Hugh and Maggie Comer, provided a strong measure of what Maggie called common sense."
